Notes: Stop if you've heard this before but Riverheads starts this season on the heels of a state championship having won their 7th consecutive Class-1 title. Ray Norcross took over for Robert Casto and went all Chris Jones to win a State Championship in his first year at the school. Norcross was a long-time assistant to Casto. The Gladiators moved up to Class 2 where the competition figures to be a little tougher at least outside of their district. Return two-time Class-1 offensive player of the year Caden Cook-Cash. Mark down September 29th as an important barometer of whether they can potentially win a state title in Class 2 as they face off with one of the best teams in Class 3 in Christiansburg. The names and faces change but Riverheads unique Double-Wing offense churns on.
