Notes: Heritage played in its 3rd State Championship game under Brad Bradley in 2022. Bradley has clearly established Heritage as one of the best teams in the Southwest part of the state and seems to have finally settled down after being well-traveled early in his career. Now, let's see if Bradley can cash the check his mouth wrote last year when he declared that Heritage and E.C. Glass run the City of Lynchburg, a clear shot at Liberty Christian. William Fleming and Dinwiddie cycle of the schedule replaced by Albemarle and Northside. Bradley played for Willis White at Salem and Rich Rodriguez at Glenville State where he was heavily involved in the origination of the "zone-read" offense.

Notes: Lovelace did a really good job rebuilding William Fleming and must feel like he's been handed the keys to a Mercedes-Benz taking over a Glass program at Jeff Woody rebuilt going 57-21 at Glass and topping it with 12 wins and a state semi-final appearance. Lovelace took William Fleming to the Class 5 semi-finals in 2020 (Spring 2021) and now gets to lead a program that has that potential every season. This marks 25 years since E.C. Glass won its last State Championship a 1988 AAA; Division 5 championship.

Notes: Bob Christmas Retired after 4 years at Amherst County and a 16-24 record and 303 career wins. Moore is an Amherst alum who played for Scott Abell at Amherst and comes back home after serving as the special teams coach at VMI. For a program that appeared in back-to-back championship games in 2008 and 2009, the Lancers need stability. Cecil Phillips left after the 2017 season; his replacement Trevor Porter resigned without ever coaching a games due to numerous conflicts with players; and the 2018 Lancers went 1-9. Notes: A season to forget that started with a late defection to college football for former coach Chris Watts leaving his former player Darryl Robertson with a no-win situation that resulted in no wins and a team that couldn't score and couldn't stop another team from scoring. Liberty drops down to Class 2 which is much needed, but it may still be tough to find their way to the post-season as they have to navigate the Seminole District as the smallest school in the district.
